Lightning Causes Deep Seated Tree Fire 2 Days Later
Robbinsville (Mercer County)- On Friday, July 25th firefighters were dispatched for smoke in the area of Robbinsville-Allentown Rd (Cnty Rt. 526) and Spring Garden Road around 2000 hrs. After a long extended period of time of searching for the smoke, around 2045 the cause of the smoke was found to be an old dead tree on fire deep into the woods off of Cooperate Blvd which was struck by lightning during that Wednesdays storm. Station 40 units remained on scene extinguishing the fire and cleaning the area up of hot spots for over 45 minutes.
