Delivery of the New Special Services Finally Arrives
Robbinsville (Mercer County)- The long waited date for the delivery of the new Special Services 40 truck has finally came.

New Utility truck arrives and begins it's transformation and become SS40
Robbinsville (Mercer County)-
After a long drawn out discussion and months of meetings, the Washington
Volunteer Firemen Inc. purchased their new 2008 Ford F-450 Super Duty with a
Readings Utility body in December 2007 to replace their 1993 Ford F-350 Crew
Cab. However, this new vehicle will be called Special Services 40 (SS40) and
will continue to transport extra fire fighting materials, and equipment as well
as tow the new Fire Prevention trailer that was received through a Grant which
was put together by Capt. Schaffener. The delivery of the truck to the company
is not set in stone at this time however it is possible it will be displayed in
the Nottingham Memorial Day Parade.
At this time the new truck is
at the up lifter and soon after will be relocating to the Graphics Company to
put the final touches on it. The new truck will be equipped with:
Whelen Freedom LED
light bar with front and rear take downs and side alleys, (Red/Blue)
Four Red/Blue LED Grille Lights
Red LED lights on front fenders and above rear wheels
Two Rear Red LED Lights
Either Whelen or Federal Signal short LED Traffic Advisor lights on both rear
utility boxes
Federal Signal SmartSiren
Federal Signal Dynamax Speaker
Round Interior Dome Light
Auto-Eject Plug with battery conditioner
Telescoping Pole Lights mounted on utility body (four)

On the rear compartments:
Washington Vol. Firemen instead of Robbinsville Division of fire
& Station 40 will be in black instead of the gold color on the rear.
